Walk On

Intensive rehearsals are beckoning me as I type this; tomorrow I go on the train to join Mark in Nottingham and what I hope will be a creative haemorrhage. No blood and guts, just good art.

Not only are we devising the piece on the hoof but also rehearsing as we go along, luckily the extra days we crammed in means we have a framework and some scenes fleshed out already. Can't wait to get cracking!

Yesterday I got very excited (has it really come to this?) as I purchased my rucksack and sleeping bag; I have also invested in a large volume of paracetamol, ibuprofen and knee supports. If I make it out of this alive you all get to buy me a beer.

Today is my dad’s birthday and also the 5 year 11 month anniversary of Marie and me, which means it is a good day.

I like good days.

  2. Just relax, enjoy the life of the road. The words, and the acts which accompany them will flit to you like the wind wind rustling across the gilded road of freedom.

But if worst comes to worst you can get hammered and rip off Danish television...

    Or maybe not.

    HB to the dad.

  4. Good boots and good socks. a map. a roll of soft toilet paper for emergencies. (Imodium for real emergencies). A hat. All else is needless luxuary.

Are you going cross country or are you rioad walking? The latter is a B******.

  5. Some wisdom for your journey from the Master himself.

    The Road Goes Ever On

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
    Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

    -- J R R Tolkien

And lets not forget the theme song from the Hobbit.

The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.
Today and tomorrow are yet to be said.
The chances, the changes are all yours to make.
The mold of your life is in your hands to break.

The greatest adventure is there if you're bold.
Let go of the moment that life makes you hold.
    To measure the meaning can make you delay;
It's time you stop thinkin' and wasting the day.

The man who's a dreamer and never takes leave
Who thinks of a world that is just make-believe
Will never know passion, will never know pain.
Who sits by the window will one day see rain.

The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.
Today and tomorrow are yet to be said.
The chances, the changes are all yours to make.
The mold of your life is in your hands to break.

The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.

Enjoy the Adventure, it sound like a really cool thing!

    Kind Regards,
    Don
