  8. Not implying that the lovely Dan is any of those things.

    But it raises the question, having lectured my neice long and hard on the importance of telling the truth, when I scream 'who the hell did this?' and she replies 'It was Mattie' should I beat her as a nark. Similarly when Mattie responds 'Emma told me to do it' do I lecture him on the evils of plea bargaining?
    (note: on no account respond with 'and if Emma told you to jump in the pond would you?' The answer is yes & if you have a pond he will demonstrate).
