Obama Does Stand-Up

Not only it seems can Obama right the 8 years of wrong caused by the Bush debacle in around 100 days but he's also one of the funniest men on the planet.

Below is Obama's routine at the White House correspondents' dinner, where quite frankly, he smacked it by making jokes about 9/11, race and Bush. After Obama's 8 years in charge, I see a long career making people laugh around the world and not in the way his predecessor did...

  1. This genuinely made me laugh. It's an odd sensation laughing with a political figure, rather than at them.

I think Mr O is a decent candidate for the second coming of Jeebus. In years to come people will look back and say 'Oh! It was Him! How did we not realise?'

  2. You pin high hopes on him, Daniel. He is refreshing, but ....

  3. It's a kinder, gentler sense of comedy. Where are the jokes about WMDs?

  4. My favorite remarks are the self-deprecating ones about his first 100 days. I also got a laugh at Sarah Palin's expense. From the NY Daily News: Wanda Sykes noted that Palin was scheduled to attend the dinner, but then "pulled out at the last minute." Said Sykes, "Somebody should tell her that's not really how you practice abstinence."

  5. Jamie:

Nice to have you around these parts, I'm willing to be he is Christ...

There is nothing false about hope.

I thought the Clinton stuff was good?

Agreed and nice find on the Palin facts, she is a tit.

  6. Yeah, Obama is certainly changing the landscape somewhat. About time and I really hope he sticks to his beliefs throughout his term..

  7. well the worlds funniest man has just perfomed his first u-turn on gbay - is it the first of many?

  8. Anon:

Not the world's funniest, just one of the funniest, which I presume you know was a joke?

As for u-turn, perhaps, I don't agree with his logic for not showing the pictures but I do understand it, which is more than can be said for the last guy.
